Barban is a beautiful historic town located in eastern Istria, only 20 kilometers from the largest city in Istria Pula and only 12 km from Labin. Known for the knightly game Race to the Ring, which is traditionally held in August, continuously since 1976, and has its roots in 1696. Barban is also known for the festival of figs and fig trees and other smaller events that have developed in the last ten years since the rapid development of rural tourism. Barban is also proud of its well-preserved Baroque and Gothic architectural buildings, frescoes and Glagolitic inscriptions.
